About
The music department of Taylor University is committed to serving the needs of liberal arts students within an atmosphere of Christian higher education. Students and faculty interact in a dynamic community focused on enriching and expanding musical talent while developing spiritual gifts and servant leadership.
Students may participate in 10 university ensembles and private vocal, keyboard or instrumental instruction taught by qualified specialists. The music department offers beautiful facilities for instruction, practice and performance in the spacious Smith-Hermanson Music Center. Music ministry opportunities are available in the music ensembles and through campus ministries programs such as Taylor World Outreach.
Taylor University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, the State Department of Public Instruction of Indiana, the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
