2008 Summer Practicum  

Rebekah Bergens '09 spent the summer modeling nonpoint source pollution (a major cause of watershed degradation) in the Mississinewa River watershed in order to prioritize subwatersheds by primary concern.

Kelly Pugh '09 studied the research and education potential of the TU reforestation project including the effectiveness of several planting methods, the temporal variation in deer browse, and community/educational opportunities afforded ty the project.

2007 Summer Practicum

Jason Haupt '08 began a two year study of the flora and plant community structure of the Taylor University arboretum.  The project includes: 1) a thorough plant inventory 2) forest structure obtained from random plots 3) a comparison of current forest structure with historical  pre-settlement records.
