Film Festivals

Taylor hosts the Envision Film Festival (envisionfilmfestival.com) to recognize the outstanding work of its own student filmmakers as well as aspiring high school filmmakers. The final awards ceremony, sponsored by Apple and Sony in 2009, included prizes for honored filmmakers. Sundance-winning filmmaker Michelle Steffes, a Taylor graduate from 2000, was our honored guest for the festival. Joining her on the special guest list were Ben Bays, Emmy-award winning independent filmmaker and Vinnie Manganello, documentary filmmaker and original founder of Taylor's film festival.

In addition to our on-campus festival, Taylor students attend several film festivals during the year, and their work is entered in a variety of national film festivals. Student films were accepted for screening at multiple festivals in the past two years, including the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, the Windrider Forum (Colorado) and the Lake Michigan Film Competition. Taylor films won Audience Choice and Best Short in two recent festivals. See our awards page to find out more about festival recognitions.
