Personal Information

Donna Downs is an associate professor in the Communication Arts Department. She teaches classes in Journalism, Public Relations, Writing and Editing. Donna lives in Fairmount, Indiana with her husband Larry of over 27 years and their cat Tigger. She has two sons, Nathan, 24, a youth minister who is now living in Ohio, and Brandon, 21, who is a senior Media Communications major here at Taylor.

In addition to teaching, Donna loves to travel, read, write and take lots of pictures. Students are often at her house, and she is part of a Beth Moore Bible study with several students as well.Favorite movies: Anne of Green Gables, inspiring movies like Mr. Holland's Opus, movies based on true inspirational stories like The Pursuit of Happyness, and movies that raise really interesting questions like Dead Poet's Society.

Favorite music: 70's music, Jim Brickman, Kenny G, plus a little Don Williams on the side.

Most important thing to communicate to students: Believe in yourself, do everything for God's glory, and be sincere, respectful and tactful, showing love and compassion to others every step of the way.

Anything else you want people to know: I love chocolate and Pepsi, and it shows.
