Bioenergetics Modules

Bioenergetics Learning Modules

The Learning modules are provided by Taylor University and the Department of Biology to enhance the learning of bioenergetics. Executable learning modules can be obtained by contacting Dr. John M. Moore at Taylor University or the National Association of Biology Teachers.

ATPSynMitochondrial Mysteries Demystified

These programs address the dynamic processes of cell respiration found in the Mitochondria; the TCA cycle (Krebs cycle or Citric Acid cycle) and the Electron Transport System (Electron transport, proton translocation, and Chemiosmotic Phosphorylation).  Structure of the mitochondria and functions of Coenzymes (NAD+) are provided in dynamic form.  Glycolysis is included as a separate process in respiration found outside of the mitochondria.  Images and flash movies are provided as downloadable files. C_PlastPhotosynthesis Revealed

These programs address the dynamic processes of photosynthesis that are found in the chloroplast: The light reactions (cyclic and non-cyclic of Photosystems I & II) and the non-light limited reaction of the Calvin Cycle.  Structure of the chloroplast is included and the many images and flash movies are provided as downloadable files.
