Information from Taylor University

The 1098-T statements are issued on or before January 31 for students who had at least part time enrollment status during the calendar tax year and met the qualifying criteria for these tuition statements. The 1098-T may be accessed online at the Touch Net student account billing site or on TOWER. In compliance with Taylor University’s electronic records procedures, the student copy of the 1098-T will not be mailed as it can be accessed and printed online. Student consent is implied for all billing and 1098-T statements current and future.

In compliance with IRS regulations, beginning with the 1098T issued for tax year 2018, the total of payments received for qualified tuition and fees from all sources during the calendar year will be reported. Qualifying charges will no longer be reported on the 1098T.

A copy of the 1098T—as well as supplemental information detailing qualifying charges, payments, loans and scholarships—is available on TOWER under Student Services > Student Records > Tax Notification.

Taylor University cannot provide individualized information about how to file taxes and the amount of credit a taxpayer may be able to claim. General information about eligibility and requirements can be accessed at the IRS website. The form to use for claiming a credit on your federal taxes is Form 8863. This form is available on the IRS Web site. For detailed information, you may wish to consult a qualified tax consultant.
