Taylor University’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will host its seventh biannual Shop the Loop on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 5 pm to 7 pm on campus outside the LaRita Boren Campus Center.

Shop the Loop is a marketplace for students to sell their goods and services. Vendors range from photographers to jewelry makers to homemade maple syrup makers, among others. The event encourages the community to support students who own small businesses or who have creative gifts that benefit others.

This year, Shop the Loop will feature live music and more vendors than ever before. The marketplace will spotlight over 35 Taylor student and employee business owners who will be able to share their creativity and entrepreneurial skills with the rest of the Taylor family.

“Shop the Loop is an excellent opportunity for the PRSSA students planning it and for the vendors,” PRSSA faculty adviser Donna Downs said. “It’s always fun to see the array of products and services created by the Taylor community.”

Free Jack’s Donuts will be served at the event, the cost underwritten by Jack’s (a new donut shop in Gas City) and a donor.

All event proceeds beyond what the vendors make for themselves will go toward PR student scholarships. Anyone interested in underwriting the event or donating to the scholarship can contact Donna Downs at 765-998-4927 or dndowns@taylor.edu.

Although the event is scheduled to take place outdoors, the location will move inside the LaRita Boren Campus Center in case of inclement weather.
