Over 200 middle school students from neighboring Jay County will tour the Taylor University campus and take part in programming designed to introduce them to life after high school as Taylor’s Education Department will host Walk Into My Future on Tuesday, April 5, from 9:15 am-1:15 pm.

The initiative was launched in 2016 and returns after a one-year hiatus during the Covid-19 pandemic. According to Dr. Ben Hotmire, Associate Professor of Education and Chair of Taylor’s Education Department, the event’s scope is being narrowed for the first time to seventh grade students from its wider elementary and middle school focus.

“Walk Into My Future is a wonderful introduction to life and learning on a college campus,” said Hotmire. “Each of these schoolchildren who will come to campus will meet students in our Education Department, interact with faculty members across campus, and get to experience life on the Taylor campus. We are excited to host our neighbors once again and look forward to a great day of sharing and learning.”
