Marion Philharmonic Orchestra Presents Chamber Concert at Taylor

The Marion Philharmonic Orchestra will present Gems, an intimate chamber concert, on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at 7:30 pm in the Butz Carruth Recital Hall on the campus of Taylor University.

This concert is the third in the 2016-2017 Masterpiece series, the final season for MPO Music Director Maestro Alexander Platt. In his honor, the program will feature such favorites as Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D Major, Jolivet’s Concerto for Bassoon, Strings, Harp and Piano, and Weber’s Clarinet Quintet in B-flat. Also featured on the concert will be the high school division winner of the 2016 MPO Concerto Aria Competition, Sage Hamm. He will perform Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No. 2 in C minor.
