HGTV-Featured Artist Kyle Ragsdale’s Work is on Display at the Metcalf Gallery

Take a Chance on Me, an exhibit of paintings by artist Kyle Ragsdale, is on display in the Metcalf Gallery in the Modelle Metcalf Visual Arts Center on the Taylor University campus. The exhibit opened on January 23, and will close on February 10, with an artist talk at 6 pm.

Ragsdale, an Indianapolis, Indiana-based painter, grew up in Texas and New Mexico. He holds degrees from Baylor University (Bachelor of Fine Arts) and Southern Methodist University (Master of Fine Arts).

According to his website, “(Ragsdale) has been painting full time, working periodically as a decorative painter and stage set designer, and making fine art. He has served as curator for exhibits in Texas and Indiana and currently is curator for the Harrison Center, Indianapolis.”

His work consists of numerous creative venues that include portraiture, landscapes, and floral patterns.

Ragsdale works in a studio at the Harrison Center (Indianapolis) and is part of a community of 36 working artists at the Center.

He is in his seventh season of creating paintings for the Indiana Repertory Theatre and has created several murals in public spaces around Indianapolis. Ragsdale’s work has been shown in galleries in the Indianapolis area and nationally. His paintings are frequently featured on the HGTV show Good Bones.

The Metcalf Gallery is open from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday-Friday. Admission is free of charge.
