Taylor Assistant Professor of Art, Jeremie Riggleman’s exhibit Kandy Kote will be on display in the Metcalf Gallery of the Modelle Metcalf Art Building on the Taylor Campus from February 1–21, 2019.

An artist talk will take place Friday, February 1, at 6 pm in MMVA 002. Reception to follow in the Gallery.

Jeremie uses lawn art creatures as stand-ins for exploring past, present and future. Influenced by mythology, folk art, pop culture, and faith, their open-ended narratives provide an entry point.

His work is interested in the tension between longing (discontent) and belonging (contentment). “In all the places I’ve lived, I sense myself floating between alienation and assimilation, while balancing the complex polarities both within and without.”

Kandy Kote will exhibit color and shine, including Jeremie’s latest paintings, sculpture, and photography.

For additional information, contact the Art Office: 765-998-5322 or visualarts@taylor.edu.

The Metcalf Gallery hours are 8 am–5 pm, Monday–Friday.
