Taylor University’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will host its 13th biannual Shop the Loop on Friday, April 24 from 3 to 5 pm at Bond Plaza, outside the LaRita Boren Campus Center during Grandparents Day.
Shop the Loop is a marketplace for students to sell their goods and services. Vendors range from artists to jewelry makers to bakers, and more. The event encourages the community to support students who own small businesses or who have creative gifts that would benefit others.
This year, Shop the Loop will feature live music from two student bands and many amazing vendors. The marketplace will spotlight over 35 student and employee business owners who will share their creativity and entrepreneurial skills with the rest of the Taylor family.
“Shop the Loop is an excellent opportunity for the public relations students planning it and for the vendors,” says Dr. Donna Downs, PRSSA faculty advisor and Associate Professor of Communication. “It’s always fun to see the wide array of products and services created by the Taylor community.”
Neighborhood Market free donuts will be served at the event, the cost underwritten by a donor and Neighborhood Market.
All event proceeds beyond what the vendors make for themselves will go toward PR student scholarships. Anyone interested in underwriting the event or donating to the scholarship can contact Dr. Donna Downs at (765) 998-4927 or [email protected].
In case of inclement weather, the location will move inside the Rupp Communication Arts Building.
