Health Center Services
At the Taylor Student Health Center, students have access to scheduled visits with a nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner will assess students for evaluation of health risk factors, diagnose and treat health problems, order and interpret diagnostic procedures and lab tests, collaborate with other health care providers as necessary, and educate students on health risks and wellness.
Provided medical care includes:
- blood pressure screenings
- cryotherapy for wart removal
- ear irrigation
- suture/staple removal
- wound care
- nebulizer treatments
- administration of flu shots and other vaccines
- oximetry screening
- TB tests (additional fee)
- storage and administration of allergy medication and injections used to treat medical conditions (serum or medication to be provided by student)
Lab work and radiology services will be provided through the IU Health network. Lab services include urinalysis, glucose, influenza A & B, strep A, urine HCG—pregnancy, hemoglobin BLD hemoccult, POC, MonoSpot test and TB testing. Collection fees and processing will be billed to students’ insurance and results returned to the TU Health Center.

What to Do if You Are Sick
If you are ill, please stay away from others as much as possible, and if needed, contact a medical care provider or visit the Student Health Center. If you will miss class, the Excused Absence Request Form can be found on myTAYLOR (login required).
