Taylor University aims to model the biblical image of Heaven—a multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language worshiping Christ (Rev. 7:9). Taylor offers opportunities for students to grow alongside each other in a community that values all backgrounds.
We believe all Taylor students are better prepared for the future by interacting with a global community. Students build connections on campus that will make them more effective intercultural leaders and Christ-followers.
As part of Spiritual Life & Intercultural Leadership at Taylor, here’s how we do it:
Taylor students come to Upland, Indiana, from over 40 countries and 40 states. We love our global community!
With students from 40 countries worldwide and almost every state, Taylor seeks to provide a home for our intercultural community. All these cultures add a rich global dimension to campus, which is incredibly valuable to the Taylor community. Still, we also recognize that an international student, American ethnic student, third-culture, or missionary kid might face additional obstacles and struggles in adjusting to life in Upland.
Students with diverse backgrounds have opportunities to celebrate their culture and educate the broader campus community. Through the Office of Intercultural Programs, these student-led organizations hold powerful events that promote cultural and racial reconciliation, encourage global engagement, and highlight the Imago Dei in every person. No matter your background or homeland, we hope you find community and belonging here, experience the beauty of God’s creativity, and enjoy amazing hospitality.
International students, MKs, and TCKs come to Taylor with unique needs, and we understand the importance of providing opportunities to connect as a community while meeting the obstacles and challenges that you face, coming from another country. This starts immediately when you arrive for International Orientation, where you'll be welcomes by your peers from around the world. Then, you can get involved in MuKappa and International Student Society, which provide care and support to students.
