When our alumni, parents, and friends engage with us, we want them to experience the joy of giving and the blessing of stewardship, not just participate in a financial transaction. We want to be a blessing in every interaction we have with them.
We acknowledge that all the resources required to carry out God’s Kingdom work will come from Him, through those He has entrusted to manage His resources. This theology provides a framework for how we operate within Taylor University’s Office for Advancement.
God’s Kingdom never has a need. It may have unfunded Kingdom opportunities. But neither God nor His work, according to His teachings, ever needs anything.
For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills. I know all the birds of the air, and all that moves in the field is mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world and all that is in it is mine. Psalm 50:10-12 RSV
Everything we have is a gift from God. Without His provision – life, health, time, abilities, resources – we have nothing to contribute to God’s work.
No one can receive anything except what is given him from heaven. John 3:27 RSV
God supplies everything needed to fulfill His purposes. He grants His people a clear vision and ensures that the resources required are available to bring that vision to life.
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness. 2 Peter 1:3 RSV
As stewards of God’s resources, we must ask ourselves, “God, what do You want me to do with all that You have entrusted to me?”
And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that you may always have enough of everything and may provide in abundance for every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8 RSV
