Clinical Adjunct Instructor
I have been a nurse for more than 11 years, spending the majority of my career at Ball Memorial Hospital. God led me into critical care many years ago, and to this day, I feel that it is where my heart truly belongs. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, including Open Heart Recovery Nurse, Rapid Response Nurse, Trauma Nurse, Charge Nurse, Preceptor, and Mentor. In 2019, I was honored to receive the DAISY Award in recognition of the compassionate care I provide to one of my patients.
In addition to these experiences, I have earned several specialty certifications, including Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Cardiac Medicine Certification (CMC), and Cardiac Surgery Certification (CSC). Most recently, I completed my Master of Science degree at Indiana Wesleyan University.
One of my favorite professional accomplishments was being featured in a hospital article that highlighted the care I provided to a patient. During his hospitalization, I transformed him into a "pirate," creating a memorable and uplifting experience that demonstrated the importance of bringing joy, creativity, and compassion into patient care.
I am deeply passionate about nursing, education, and empowering future nurses to develop confidence in their clinical skills. I value lifelong learning and am committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of both patients and nursing students.
Outside of my professional life, I am a single mother to an 11-year-old named Aidan, as well as two border collies, three horses, two cats, and a ferret. In the summer, we spend a lot of our weekends at barrel races competing. While our busy household and many animals keep us on our toes, they also bring us immense joy and fulfillment to our lives.
