Biography
I found my way to Taylor and Res Life again after 15+ years of pastoral ministry. Along the way, I've been an innkeeper, barista, and professor. So far, being a Hall Director in Bergwall seems like a beautiful mashup of all of these roles.
To Berg I bring my wife, Jami, four kids (Avery, Asher, Ezra, and Eliza), and labradoodle, Luna. We love national parks, read-alouds, and homemade pizza night. I am an occasional marathoner and did my doctoral research on the faith formation possibilities of children's literature.
Here's my advice to incoming freshmen: Be curious. Lean into your questions and interests. Or as Amy Krouse Rosenthal put it: "Pay attention to what you pay attention to." Here you will likely find your calling or vocation, but even more, you will find wonder. Pay attention to what you pay attention to long enough and you will find the God who is paying attention to you.
