Assistant Professor of Spanish
It is truly a joy and a passion of mine to teach Spanish and honor God with the gifts and abilities that He has given me. Nothing compares to the joy of seeing students grow excited about learning another language, choosing to study abroad, and developing a deep appreciation for culture and people. It is my prayer that the linguistic and cultural knowledge students gain in the classroom will equip them to serve others and live out the Great Commission.
I learned my first words in Spanish from María on Sesame Street! I went on to study Spanish and Communication at Purdue University, where I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Toledo, Spain. I received my master’s degree in Language Education from Indiana University. I also completed additional graduate coursework in Salamanca, Spain, as well as in Seville, Spain.
My first time on campus was for the Taylor Youth Conference in eigth grade, and it was one of the first times I heard the gospel! My husband, Brian (who also attended the conference that same year), and I have been married for 26 years. We have two daughters, Mya and Lauren.
In our free time, we enjoy hiking and traveling. We also spend much of our summer at a waterski lake in Kokomo, the town where Brian and I both grew up.
