Department Co-Chair and Professor of Film & Media Arts
I have more than 35 years of experience as a producer/director/writer for film and video with an emphasis on nonfiction stories. I’m currently working on a documentary about musical theatre and disability. So far, ten Taylor film students have joined the crew to shoot or edit with me.
I was honored to receive Taylor’s Distinguished Professor Award from the Alumni Association (2018) and the Dr. Joe Burnworth Award for Teaching (2010). My life’s calling is to prepare the next generation of visual storytellers, helping them craft stories that are good, beautiful and true.
“The Art of Loss” (2024)
"Last Year at the Crossing" (2017)
I was born and raised on the east coast—NYC, Pennsylvania, Boston, Long Island—until my high school years which I spent in Windsor, Ontario, my amazing husband John's home town. John and I have spent the majority of our married life together in Minnesota, Kentucky, and Indiana, with shorter stops in Texas and Chicago. I enjoy flower gardening, photography, vacations at the beach, playing ball with our dog Cali, and hosting students at our house in Upland. Our son Andrew is a Taylor graduate and lives in New York.
