Assistant Professor of Marketing
Kate Blyberg has pursued a career in corporate strategy, blending her passion for Business and Psychology, after studying both during her undergraduate years at Taylor University. A textbook visionary, Kate is energized by competitive enterprise and never gets bored of building brands and businesses. Most of all, she is passionate about using her gifts to lead and develop people.
In 2021, Kate joined The Kroger Company where she led the eCommerce portfolio growth strategy, lending her expertise in strategy development for innovative, digital grocery business models. In previous roles, she has consulted for global, industry-leading brands (including Batiste, OXO, Arm & Hammer, Bacardi, and Fruit of the Loom) to drive category share growth through competitive, differentiated positioning. It’s her core belief that a focus on the evolving consumer landscape is critical to brand building, impactful innovation, and competitive longevity. Successful strategy, winning amid competition, and effective marketing is impossible without clarity to the customer.
Kate and her husband, Derrick (’12), call both Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, “home” but are excited to call Upland "home" again! They enjoy tennis, good food, reading, traveling to visit family, all things sports, and worship concerts. You may see them walking their two pups, Murphy and Finn, around campus!
