For several years, I served in a high profile school district in suburban Detroit as a School Psychologist and led the Michigan Association of School Psychologists. I was elected to the Special Education Advisory Committee following a few years of service after my appointment as a Delegate to the Committee by the Michigan State Board of Education.
For the last 17 years, I have worked at a Christian school in Tampa Bay that has grown to be one of the largest K-8 private schools in Florida. Since 2013, I have served as the Head of School.
In 2023, I was appointed to the Council for Early Grade Success in the State of Florida and serve as a Chair of accreditation teams throughout the state through the Florida Council of Independent Schools. As a member of the Association of Christian Schools Exemplary Council, I have the opportunity to learn and grow alongside other leaders in Christian education.
I also serve on various boards in the greater Tampa Bay area and have included board membership of a Christian boarding school among my activites as well as serving as a member of Taylor's Christian Education Leadership Advisory Council.
I am a Colson Fellow. I hold the following credentials: Certified K-12 School Administrator, State of Michigan; Certified Educational Leadership, State of Florida; and Certified School Psychologist, State of Michigan and State of Florida.
As a psychologist and leader in organizations, I have spoken to various groups and at conferences over the years on topics ranging from grief to childhood development to risk and resiliency to organizational leadership.
In my free time, I enjoy walking, boating, hiking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy church involvement and serving in different capacities. I have enjoyed helping as a Guardian ad Litem for the Sixth Judicial Court of Pasco and Pinellas Counties in Tampa Bay.
