Residential Village Hall Director
Hutson Hohlbein is the Hall Director of Taylor University's Residential Village and a master's candidate at the IU O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs in Indianapolis, Indiana. Formerly a student-athlete at Taylor, he studied Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) with a minor in Intercultural Studies. Hutson was a wide receiver on the football team and served as a captain and a member of the team’s Servant-Leadership Council for over two seasons. Hutson also served as a Presidential Fellow under President Michael Lindsay and as a three-year Resident Assistant. During his time at Taylor, Hutson accumulated several accolades, such as the 2023-2024 Taylor University Citizenship Award, 2022 Academic All-American honors, and the Taylor University Merit in Leadership Award.
Most recently, Hutson completed two years of work at Upland Community Church, providing interim leadership over adult ministries while the congregation searched for a new associate pastor. Through work experiences across Ethiopia, Spain, and Greece, Hutson has developed a love for global connection and eagerly anticipates continued intercultural engagement in assignments to come. He gravitates to the intersection of faith and culture, seeking to walk alongside the curious and encourage the fainthearted. With training and experience in both the nonprofit and public sectors, Hutson offers a combination of enthusiasm and critical thinking to meet challenges big and small. For this chapter, Hutson is honored to share the educational landscape with Taylor undergraduates and to steward one of the University's newest living spaces.
