English Hall Director
I am originally from a small town in the lesser-lauded lands of southeast Colorado but most recently hail from Scotland, where my husband, our two sons, and I have been living the past eight years. I attended Nelson University in Texas where I received my degrees in Pre-Professional Counseling (BS) and Human Services Counseling (MS).
I then pursued supplemental courses in philosophy, ethics, and spiritual formation at Talbot School of Theology in California, where I met my husband, Dennis. After our son Peri was born, we moved to St. Andrews, Scotland, expecting to stay only three years. In the end, we stayed for eight years, had another son (Ames), and returned to the US with a fondness for fish and chips, tea, and the beaches of the North Sea.
I have worked at academic institutions in the past, serving students and the larger university in various capacities, including Administration, Finance, and Student Development. I have seen how God uses faculty and staff to care for and lead students into further knowledge of Him, themselves, and their mission to the world. It is a privilege to offer myself in service to the young women of English Hall.
When I have free time, I enjoy getting lost in a book, writing poetry, trying my hand (often unsuccessfully) at pottery, playing card and board games with my boys and husband, and long conversations with friends.
