Adjunct Instructor of Oboe
Angela Xue is a freelance oboist, English hornist, and teacher based in central Indiana. She has performed with numerous orchestras throughout the region, including the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, the Carmel Symphony Orchestra, the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, and the Lafayette Master Chorale. She performs under contract with the Anderson Symphony Orchestra and Muncie Symphony Orchestra, and she has been the oboe professor at both Taylor University and Anderson University since 2024.
Xue received her Master of Music degree in oboe performance from the University of Cincinnati, where she studied with Titus Underwood and worked as a graduate assistant in music theory. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in oboe performance from Anderson University, studying with Leonid Sirotkin. While there, she won the annual Evening of Excellence concerto competition and received the prestigious Theodore Presser Scholarship.
