Hello! My name is Kristin Hoover, and I am the Homeschool Coordinator in the Admissions office. If you are a homeschool student, or a parent of a homeschool student, I would love to talk to you about preparing for the admissions process!
I graduated from Taylor in 1995 with a degree in Psychology. In addition to working in the Admissions office for several years, I also enjoyed being a research assistant to a psychology professor and serving as the freshman class secretary on the Inter-Class Council (ICC). Each of these experiences gave me the opportunity to grow my leadership skills, contribute to the Taylor community, and develop lasting friendships.
After working in professional market research and project management roles for eight years, and staying home for a few years, my husband and I decided to homeschool our children in 2012. I continue to be a homeschool mom to our three children and am so excited to also be in this part-time role at Taylor. We have been a part of several different homeschool community formats over the years, and we have tried lots of different curriculum options! I can identify with many of the questions homeschool families have around high school transcripts, college testing options, and preparing for a successful transition to college.
If you are a middle school or high school homeschool student, or the parent of one, it’s never too early to begin asking these questions. I can’t wait to hear from you!
