Advice to incoming students

Be open to the ways God wants to grow you through your experience at Taylor.  Get to know the people in your major and collaborate with them.

Why I Came to Taylor

I’m a graduate of Taylor and have always believed in its mission.

I love reading, especially British and American fiction and am always in the middle of one or more books.  I am a big NFL fan and follow the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts. My husband and I like to camp, kayak, and fish.

Major career accomplishments

Dr. Jordan-Long began her career teaching junior high language arts in Marion, Indiana and continues to work with the Taylor Education Department to prepare future teachers.  After serving as a dean and English professor at Taylor University Fort Wayne, she came to the Upland campus in 2009.  Dr. Jordan has published several journal articles on C. S. Lewis and George MacDonald and is a member of several professional organizations including the C. S. Lewis and Friends Society, George MacDonald Society, C. S. Lewis and Inklings Society and the Christian Community Development Association.   She was elected to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 2000.
