Why I Enjoy Teaching at Taylor
I am passionate about helping students gain knowledge and hands-on expertise in the classroom, on campus media and from off campus media internships, as they prepare to enter the world as salt and light truth-tellers with a capital “T”.
I enjoy reading fiction by authors such as John Grisham, Frank Peretti and Jerry Jenkins. I am also a fan of historical biographies, such as recently published ones on President Ulysses S. Grant and Jack London. I also enjoy time with family, following politics, playing chess and traveling.
Major Career Accomplishments

Pulliam Journalism Fellowship – I consult for this annual summer fellowship that places up to 25 university juniors, seniors and grad students from the nation’s top journalism schools. Each fellow works in one of 8 different paid journalist roles (social media, photography, graphic design, copy editing, sports writing, news writing, business writing and feature writing) at either the Indianapolis Star or Arizona Republic for 10 weeks during the summer – www.indystar.com/pjf
