Athletic Opportunities

Participating in Taylor collegiate, club, or intramural athletics can be great way to be stewards of our bodies for Christ. Although we take strong care of academics, we want to make sure we also take strong care of our bodies.

It’s no surprise that Taylor University, with its deep Christian commitment and highly rated academic program, hosts equally robust athletic programs and opportunities. Collegiate athletics, club athletics, and intramural athletics all provide an opportunity for anyone who wants to play a sport. Students participate in athletic programming not only to have a good time, but to build relationships with their teammates and live their faith out on the field.

Since 1933, when intercollegiate athletics first began at Taylor, we have focused on developing the whole person—body, mind, and soul—for excellence on and off the field and for service at home and around the world. We now have 16 intercollegiate athletic teams ranging from football and golf, to volleyball and tennis.

Taylor also has a variety of club teams, including cycling, rugby, equestrian, men’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s lacrosse. Each team is composed of students dedicated to making the programs the best they can be.

If you are looking for a more casual athletic setting, check out our intramural programs. Organized by the Taylor Student Organization, sports include flag football, basketball, soccer, ultimate frisbee and dodgeball. Being involved in intramurals can be a great way to bond with your roommates.
