Leading the Way in Science, Stewardship and Service
If you are looking for a leading environmental science program balancing theoretical knowledge with practical experience, and also integrating Christian ethics with a deep concern for God’s creation, then look no further than Taylor University’s Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES) program.
We seek to give our EES students not only the intellectual and professional tools they need, but also a deeper understanding of the ethical reasoning behind a faith-based pursuit of environmental studies and sustainability. We believe in science leading to stewardship and service, both inside and outside the classroom.
Located on a 145-acre arboretum, the award winning Randall Environmental Center is the perfect embodiment of our departmental approach. The building itself demonstrates our strong focus on the latest environmental science research methods and techniques, while the setting reflects our commitment to conserving creation with our hands-on, “outside science” teaching methods.
Our graduates are heavily recruited as a result of this powerful combination of theory and experience, with nearly 100% of our graduates finding placement in either graduate studies programs or the workplace.

Taylor University Professor of Biology and Environmental Science Dr. Paul E. Rothrock has received the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Indiana Academy of Science. The award was presented to Rothrock during the Academy’s recent statewide meeting.
