Major career accomplishments:
Professor of Political Science (2011); BS: Central College (1979-1981); University of Nebraska at Kearney (1981-1983); MA and Ph.D.: University of Missouri (1984; 1990). He has taught in Christian higher education—less two years—since 1991, and in higher education overall since 1989. His areas of academic interest include American Government and Politics, Public Administration, and Public Policy. He is the author of God and Caesar: The Biblical Keys to Good Government and Community Action (Xulon Press, 2002) and co-author with Bradley S. Chilton of Administration in the Public Interest: Principles, Policies, and Practices (Carolina Academic Press, 2009). He is currently working on a third book titled Leadership Adrift. Dr. King is married to Debbie and they have two children: Michelle and Joshua.
