Major Career Accomplishments:
Most of my career has been in the power generation industry (Babcock & Wilcox Co. and Idaho National Laboratory). I’ve worked on various safety issues of commercial nuclear power stations (loss of coolant accidents), engineering automation, and business process integration. The deliverable of my work almost always has been a computer program or the implementation of an information system. I’ve worked in the capacities of engineer, manager, and executive retiring as the Information Systems Director for Babcock & Wilcox.
I joined the Taylor faculty in 1999. I am presently the Director of the Systems Curriculum. In 2008-09 I led a review of the systems curriculum by external experts and revamped the curriculum. I have taught Introduction to Systems, Information Systems Analysis, Information Systems Design, Systems Seminar, Discrete Mathematics, Database Concepts, Operations Research, Operations Management, and Human Relations in Organizations. My wife Christa and I have spoken in chapel (2010) and have led Lighthouse student teams to Paraguay (2005) and India (2007). For several years we have hosted in our home a “Life Group” of students and faculty who attend our church, New Life Presbyterian, Yorktown, IN.
