There are several traditional and unique student events held on Taylor's campus throughout the school year. Airband, the Christmas Fandango, Taylathon, My Generation Night, The Trojan Film Festival and Nostalgia Night serve as just a few examples of creative events sponsored by Inter-Class Council (ICC) and Student Activities Council (SAC).

Airband

Airband is a fun-filled, themed show that features a lip synch and choreography contest.  Besides choreographed performances, students act in live or filmed skits and create commercials that fit with the theme of the night. Each fall hundreds of students participate in Airband and hundreds more students, faculty and family members attend the show.

Christmas Fandango

The Christmas Fandango is a fun evening of events that take place each December.  The event is kicked off at the Ivanhoes Classic basketball game when students and faculty wear pajamas to "silent night" (the crowd remains silent until Taylor scores its 10th point of the game). The game is followed by a campus wide Christmas party where students slide down into the dining commons to eat Christmas cookies, hear the president read the Christmas story, listen to various faculty and students perform live music, compete in gingerbread house and cookie decorating competitions and watch as community children tell Santa what they want for Christmas.

Taylathon

Taylathon is a traditional men's and women's bicycle race that takes place on the sidewalks in the middle of campus. Teams are made up of eight male and female riders from each class. Riders exchange their bikes to teammates in an exciting fashion after each lap until completion of the race (the men's race is 64 laps and the women's race 32 laps). With over 30 years of history, Taylathon is enjoyed by the whole community as well as many alumni.

My Generation Night

My Generation Night is a live performance show that showcases the amazing musical student talent on campus. Students audition for the show by performing songs that fall within 20 years of the current date. My Generation Night in also a themed show that includes student skits, student commercials and amazing sets.

The Trojan Film Festival

The Trojan Film Festival encourages students to write, direct, cast and act in creative and meaningful short films for submission. The Student Activities Council selects the top several films to be shown the night of the festival. After all the films are shown, the nominees for categories such as "Best Film" and "Best Screenplay" are announced with over $1,000 given out as awards. The Trojan Film Festival is a favorite event of many students on campus.

Nostalgia Night
