Lacrosse

The Taylor University Men’s Lacrosse Team is a competing member of the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA). Participating within the MCLA provides the Men’s Lacrosse Team the opportunity to face competition from schools of varying enrollment, from all across the country. As a club sport that operates as a varsity program, the Lacrosse team requires physical, mental, and spiritual dedication. We have been given a unique opportunity to further the Kingdom of Christ. It is because of this opportunity that we are committed to humble excellence in all that we do.

Chey WestThe Director of Lacrosse Programs is 2010 alumnus Cheyenne (Chey) West.  West, a four-year lacrosse player and former team captain, will oversee Taylor’s men’s and women’s lacrosse programs and serve as coach of the men’s team.

“This is a huge new step for Taylor. We are really excited,” says West. “Our players are very excited and I am excited for the opportunity to develop this program. When I graduated people asked what my dream job was and I told them it was to come back to Taylor and develop the lacrosse program into a national competitor. I’m getting that opportunity now.”

Women's Lacrosse has been involved in organized team competition since 2001. The club practices regularly and plays both a home and away schedule that includes state schools such as Ohio State as well as other Christian colleges like Wheaton. The club is open to female students who are interested in developing as a lacrosse player and athlete and provides good competition, fun and Christian fellowship.
