Following a 12-month hiatus from his part-time role as Mid-Central College Conference sports information director, Taylor University Sports Information Director Eric Smith has returned to assist MCC Commissioner J.D. Collins in directing the league's public relations efforts.

08.07.2010 - Odle Golf Classic Attracts Record Numbers
Supporters of the Taylor University athletic department showed up in record numbers Friday at the 11th Annual Odle Golf Classic at Walnut Creek Golf Course in Marion, Ind. A new record of 39 teams and 155 golfers, along with over 40 corporate sponsors turned out for the event to benefit Taylor's student-athletes.

Fourteen of Taylor University's 15 intercollegiate athletic teams have been recognized as scholar teams by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) for the 2009-2010 school year.
06.30.2010 - NAIA to Administer New Eligibility Center
The NAIA recently launched a new Web site for the new NAIA Eligibility Center. The NAIA Eligibility Center is responsible for determining the eligibility of first-time NAIA student-athletes and will begin taking registrations this September for any student interested in playing NAIA sports for the first-time in 2011-12 or after.

After a 5-2 loss to Saint Francis in the MCC Tournament, the Taylor softball season comes to a close with a 13-27 (6-10 MCC) record. It was Taylor’s second loss of the double elimination tournament in Lakeville, Ind. The Trojans fell to Indiana Wesleyan earlier in the day.
The Taylor softball team was defeated by Indiana Wesleyan 1-0 in game one of the MCC Tournament. With the loss the Trojans will take on Saint Francis at 4 p.m. in the double elimination event at Newton Park in Lakeville, Ind.
Heading into the final leg of the regular season the Taylor softball team hit a speed bump in Terre Haute, Ind., dropping both games of a doubleheader vs. St. Mary-of-the-Woods College by the scores of 2-1 and 6-2.
Wrapping up the conference regular season today, the Taylor softball team dropped two games to Spring Arbor by the scores of 3-0 and 5-1. The Trojans fall to 13-23 on the season and 6-10 in the Mid-Central College Conference.
On the day Taylor University honored seniors Jess Fankhauser and Liz Lewellen for their four year commitment to the softball program, it was the underclassmen that stole the spotlight and led the Trojans to a doubleheader sweep of Goshen.
