Taylor University Adjusts Return SchedulePublished: Jan 03, 2014
Taylor University officials have moved the opening of residence halls from 1:00 p.m., Sunday, to 5:00 p.m., Saturday in response to wintry weather forecasts for the weekend.
The safety of students and their family members who will be traveling to campus was cited as the primary reason for the change. “As we heard from students who expressed their concerns about traveling this weekend we felt this was the prudent and right thing to do,” said Dr. Skip Trudeau, Vice President for Student Affairs. “Opening the residence halls early will allow students who wish to do so to travel on Saturday when the weather is expected to be more moderate.”
Weather forecasters are projecting clear conditions Saturday with heavy snowfall expected Sunday.
Additional changes to the schedule include the opening of Taylor’s Student Union at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, and limited dining services in the Hodson Dining Commons on Sunday for breakfast and lunch. Full dining service will resume Sunday evening at dinner.
Students, family, faculty and staff are encouraged to use caution when traveling this weekend. Watch Taylor's Twitter account (www.twitter.com/tayloru) and website for updates.
