Grammy-nominated rock band NEEDTOBREATHE will be in concert on Bond Plaza at the LaRita Boren Campus Center on Taylor University’s campus Saturday, October 7, at 7 pm.
The private concert is in celebration of the Bond Plaza and in memory of William C. “Billy” Bond III, for whom the Plaza is named. Bond’s life ended in a tragic accident at age 23 while a Taylor University student. It will serve as the centerpiece to this year’s Homecoming and Family Weekend, October 6-8, in which thousands of alumni and families of current students will join together on campus to rekindle relationships, attend classes, enjoy athletic events, attend student music and dance performances, enjoy great food, worship together, and experience life on the campus.
The band will perform as part of their fall All the Feels Tour ’17. This private event for Homecoming and Family Weekend is sponsored by the Bond Family Foundation and represents the first major event to be held in that venue since its opening in April of 2016.
Billy Bond is remembered for his vibrant life, his intense love of living—especially for fishing—and for time spent outside enjoying God’s creation. He was known for having fun with classmates, his sense of humor and his love for family and friends.
It was while he was a student at Taylor University that he experienced God’s redemption and it is hoped that the Bond Plaza will encourage leisure and relaxation and be conducive to intentional fun, spiritual meaning, and colorful interaction for generations to come.
Information about Taylor’s Homecoming and Family Weekend and this private concert can be found at taylor.edu/hfw beginning July 25. Tickets will be available only for Taylor University alumni, current parents and families, employees and students.
