Art Department Careers Symposium Scheduled Tomorrow

The Taylor University Art Department will hold its 2015 Career Symposium Thursday, March 19 as illustrator Mandie Anderson, visual artist Dayton Castleman, and photographer Matt Herrmann share their experiences as working artists.

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Presentations by guest artists in Hodson Dining Commons, Alspaugh West

12:00 p.m.: Lunch in Hodson Dining Commons

12:30 p.m.:  Q & A with the artists in Hodson Dining Commons

Critiques will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Metcalf building (pre-registration is required).

About the Artists

Mandie Anderson began her career as a freelance illustrator and designer for OneHope in 2010. Since then, she’s illustrated over 15 children’s books and designed more than 20 course materials for OneHope. Her experiences range from print materials to digital apps and web design. Mandie lives with her husband and son in Indianapolis.

Dayton Castleman is a multi-modal artist, educator, and manager of the 21c Museum in Bentonville, Ark. He holds an MFA in sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Dayton has taught sculpture at Trinity Christian College and worked as a museum educator at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. He has lectured and exhibited his work throughout the United States.

Matthew Herrmann is a visual artist studying and working in New York City. He is currently a student in the MFA Photography, Video and Related Media program at the School of Visual Arts and lives in Queens.
