Angell Faculty Recital Features Sondheim, Bernstein, Rodgers

Dr. Conor Angell, Assistant Professor of Music and Lyric Theatre at Taylor University, will present a faculty recital titled American Songs, Saturday, September 12, at 7:30 p.m.

Accompanied by pianist Sheila Todd, Angell will perform diverse music styles of American 20th and 21st century composers, with selections ranging from humorous to deeply moving, and from jazz-infused and Broadway to classical.

Featured composers include Sondheim, Thomson, Barber, Bernstein, Blitzstein, Laitman, Rodgers, and Weill. The recital will be presented in the Butz Carruth Recital Hall of the Smith-Hermanson Music Center on the Taylor campus.

The entire campus and local community is invited. There is no charge for admission.
