2012 Mosaic Night is ThursdayBy Jim Garringer Published: Apr 17, 2012
The Taylor University Multi-Ethnic Student Association (MESA) will present Mosaic Night this Thursday, April 19, in the Rediger Chapel/Auditorium on the Taylor campus.
The evening begins at 6:30 with the Global Market, a showcase of cultures with food, facts and photographs and will take place in the Chapel/Auditorium lobby. The evening continues at 7:45 in the auditorium with a fashion show during which Taylor’s international students will model clothing from their home countries. At 8:15, a talent show featuring music, interpretive dance and poetry reading will begin, also in the Chapel/Auditorium.
An estimated 100 students and faculty are involved in the event said Kate Camera, a senior English major from Indianapolis and MESA president.
“Mosaic Night is Taylor University's night of celebrating the many cultures represented on this campus. Through food, fashion, singing, poetry and much more students and faculty have a chance to showcase their culture in various ways,” she said. “Mosaic Night is a wonderful event because it highlights the impressive diversity present on our campus. The students have put so much work into this night and I am confident that the Taylor community will come to support and enjoy the many cultures in the student body and faculty."
Tickets are $2.00 and will be on sale in the Dining Commons Monday-Thursday and at the door. Children ages 12 and under are free.
The event is open to the public.
