Ask Tough Questions
The Anthropology & Sociology program is home to students interested in studying the behavior of individuals within societal systems and understanding the roles of family, work, and government in our communities and lives.
As a Anthropology & Sociology student, you will cultivate your intellectual curiosity, develop your research skills, and experience learning beyond the traditional classroom setting through our planned trips to correctional facilities, homeless shelters, and refugee centers. By asking challenging questions about the world around you, you will cultivate a heart for social and biblical justice and a curiosity for complex social issues.
Dedicated to Your Study of Anthropology & Sociology
One of the most unique aspects of our program is the one-on-one attention you will receive from our faculty. Our department’s small size allows the development of mentorship relationships between our faculty and students. Understanding your personal passions and goals helps faculty to direct and individualize your experience and education. Whether you are in the classroom researching and defending your thoughts and ideas or off campus gaining real-life experience, we are here to help you formulate a biblical view of the social systems around you.
Some of our graduates have gone on to study further at the following schools’ graduate programs:
- Duke University
- Harvard University
- Indiana University
- Loyola University
- Marquette University
- Notre Dame University
- University of Minnesota
- Vanderbilt University
- Wake Forest University
Whether you want to work with individuals in need or as a researcher in academics, we will prepare you for whatever path you choose. Our students often continue their education in graduate schools, work in ministry settings, or join social service agencies. The Anthropology & Sociology program also offers valuable preparation for careers in journalism, politics, public relations, business, or public administration.
The Anthropology & Sociology program has a placement rate of 100%. Every student who has gone through our program in the last four years has started a job, internship, or graduate program within six months of graduation.
