Parent Programs
Parents Association
All parents of currently enrolled students are automatically members of the Parents Association, which exists to foster and cultivate the spirit of a Christian community of parents. A professional staff is provided by the University to help carry out the work of the Parents Association.
Parents Council
Parents Council is a selected leadership body of the association and serves the University in the planning of parents activities and programs and their execution. The council is not a policy-making body, but one whose chief functions are advisory to the University in matters of parental interest and as a liaison to the larger community in support of the University.
Parents Emergency Assistance Fund
The Taylor Parents Association raises financial resources each year to be allocated for student emergencies. Medical costs not covered by insurance and emergency travel in case of death or severe illness of immediate family are two of the most frequent reasons for allocations from this fund. Other emergency costs are subject to review by the dean of students.
The monies for the Emergency Assistance Fund are raised through the General Store and Silent Auction held during Parents and Family Weekend.
Parents and Family Weekend: October 1-3, 2010
Parents and Family Weekend at Taylor is three days in the fall, filled with activities that you can enjoy with your family. A brochure outlining all Parents Weekend activities and reservation information will be mailed to Taylor parents.
Grandparents Day: April 30, 2010
A day planned to tie the generations together by inviting grandparents to spend a day with their grandchild/student. They visit classes, attend chapel, eat with their grandchild, tour facilities, hear from University and student leadership, fellowship with other grandparents and have a wonderful day with their grandchild.
