Class Visitation
Attend classes with your student. Come prepared to listen and take notes!

Dr. Richard Allen FarmerChapel - Dr. Richard Allen Farmer
Hear Dr. Richard Allen Farmer, a vibrant communicator, concert-level pianist, eloquent theologian and impassioned man of God. Dr. Farmer uses his music as a unique vehicle to inspire, motivate and entertain diverse audiences around the world. His preaching of the Word has moved audiences in his various pastorates, through special meetings and services and through ministering on college campuses, including Taylor University 1999-2002. He currently serves as senior pastor of Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Stone Mountain, GA.

The Spirit of the American West Art ShowLeone Watching the Herd
This collection of works in oil, watercolor, charcoal, ink, wood, bronze, marble and mixed media highlight the landscapes, livestock and people representing a period of life that was wild and wandering, pressing the boundaries of what could be discovered, accomplished and tamed.

Playback Theatre
Interactive and spontaneous, playback theatre bases its material on the stories of the community. Performances are carried out by a team of actors, emcee (conductor) and musician. Audience members respond to questions from the conductor, then watch actors and musician create brief theatre pieces on the spot. Later, audience volunteers tell longer stories and choose actors to play the main roles. Playback Theatre draws people together, allows fresh perspectives and is practiced in over 50 countries. Admission charged.

Music Department Concerts
Enjoy performances by the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Orchestra, Chorale, Taylor Sounds, Taylor Ringers and Adoration Chorus

Athletic Event
Support the Trojans at women’s volleyball. Admission charged.

Flag Football Intramural Championships
See wing/floor rivalries at their best during the men’s and women’s championship games.

Scavenger Hunt
Does your student know what the oldest building is on campus? Or what shake #13 is on the Ivanhoe’s menu? Complete challenges like these during the weekend and your family could win a great prize package.

KSAC Fitness Center and Fieldhouse Open
Families are invited to utilize The Well (fitness center) and field house (lap pool not available and field house closed 3:30-8:00 p.m. Friday for team practices).

Tee-Time at Walnut Creek
Call Walnut Creek Golf Course at 765/998-7651. Mention Taylor’s Parents and Family Weekend and enjoy a nine-hole special rate of $15, including cart. Minimum two players per tee time.

Residence Halls Open House
Hang out on your Taylor student’s wing/floor and experience a bit of their home-away-from-home during these special open house hours.

Saturday

Family Weekend 5K Walk/Run
Enjoy a family-friendly 5K walk or run hosted by the Taylor cross country team. Prizes awarded for several divisions. All registered participants receive a TU shirt, water and snack following the race. Reservations required - $10 participation fee.

Presidential Update and Presidential/Faculty Reception 
Join Dr. Eugene Habecker for an update on University priorities and initiatives followed by a reception with University leaders and faculty members available to engage and answer questions.

Cardboard Boat RegattaCardboard Boat Regatta
This event tests creativity and engineering as teams are given raw materials (cardboard, plastic sheets and duct tape) and one hour to build the best lake-faring vessel. Then, at least one team members boards their creation and the race across Taylor Lake is on! Prizes awarded to the winning team; great participation and spectator event that is fun for everyone. Family teams are encouraged! Reservations required; more information will be e-mailed to participants prior to the event.

Escape to Reality Challenge Course and Zip Line 
Experience low/ground level initiatives, high initiatives (20-35 feet above ground level) or the zip line. Each initiative is one hour and availability is limited. Reservations required; admission charged; more information will be e-mailed to participants prior to the event.

Saturday NightSoccer
It’s GAME DAY at Taylor! Enjoy a tailgate party with all of your favorite tailgate food and games, stay for the men’s soccer game, enjoy a fireworks display at half-time and attend the Backyard Bash at the President’s Home following the game. 

Athletic Events
Enjoy volleyball, baseball (scrimmage), soccer and lacrosse. Admission charged for some events.

Music Department Concert
Enjoy the Jazz Ensemble in concert.

Sunday

All Campus Worship Service
Join other Taylor families on Sunday morning for a time of corporate worship and hear from Dr. Matt Nussbaum, current parent and Lead Pastor of Exodus Church, Bloomington, IN. (Freewill offering taken during service to support the Student Emergency Assistance Fund for allocation for student emergencies like non-insurance medical costs and emergency travel.)
