Taylor University Ranked Number One in U.S. News Survey for the Seventh Straight Year

By Jim Garringer Published: Sep 10, 2013

For the seventh straight year, Taylor University is the number one Midwest University in the category Best Regional Colleges in the newly-released 2014 U.S. News & World Report survey, America's Best Colleges.

The number one ranking also marks the 17th consecutive year Taylor University has been listed in the region’s top three.

Among the Midwest’s Best Regional Colleges, Taylor also ranked first in peer assessment score, freshman retention rate, graduation rate, and its ability to attract freshmen from the top 25% of their high school class. Taylor’s alumni giving rate was ranked second.

The rest of the top five included: Ohio Northern University, Augustana (South Dakota), Marietta College (Ohio) and Cedarville (Ohio).

“It has been gratifying once again to learn that Taylor University has been recognized by US News as the top-ranked college in its Midwest category. And we are also grateful for the high rankings that have come from other respected publications such as Forbes, Princeton Review, Washington Monthly and Open Doors,” said Taylor president, Dr. Eugene B. Habecker.

“While these rankings imperfectly reflect any institution, we believe they nevertheless provide some external validation of the great educative work of our faculty and staff as we equip students to minister Christ’s redemptive love and truth throughout the world, no matter their vocational calling. Ultimately, the greatest measure of our success is displayed through the faithful service in multiple vocations of our more than 20,000 committed, Christ- following alumni hard at work serving around the world.  Thanks be to God.”
