Shakespeare Classic Romeo and Juliet Begins Friday at Taylor University

The 2012-2013 theatre season at Taylor University continues this Friday with the opening of the William Shakespeare classic tragedy Romeo and Juliet.

The story tells of the star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet, whose love was forbidden by their feuding Montague and Capulet families.

Show times are:

November 9: 8:00 p.m.
November 10: 2:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m.
November 11: 2:00 p.m.

November 15, 16: 8:00 p.m.
November 17: 2:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m.
November 18: 2:00 p.m.

1992 Taylor alumna Tracy Manning serves as artistic director for the Taylor Theatre program. All shows are in the Mitchell Theatre of the Rupp Communication Arts building on the Taylor campus.

Based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew, and featuring a score by Stephen Schwartz, Godspell is one of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time. The production includes a string of well-loved songs including Day By Day, All Good Gifts, and By My Side.

 

The Curious Savage

The Curious Savage is the story of a widow whose husband left her with millions of dollars. Her efforts to help those less fortunate are threatened by her grown-up stepchildren who have her committed to a mental hospital. But there she is inspired by the gentle inmates who are exactly the sort of people she wants to assist.
