Three seniors from Taylor University's Department of Music will hold their senior recitals this weekend. The entire campus community is invited.
The Taylor Sounds Chamber Ensemble will present "All Over The World," in the Euler Science Complex atrium on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. There is no charge for admission and the public is invited to this event.
The Taylor University Wind Ensemble will present "Musical Journeys" on Wednesday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m., in the Rediger Chapel/Auditorium. Directed by Dr. Albert Harrison, the 47-member Ensemble will present a program consisting of varied selections for band including marches, folk music, and sacred compositions.
Trumpeter Joshua Ganger will present a free guest recital on the Taylor University campus on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 7:30 p.m., in the Butz Carruth Recital Hall at Taylor's Smith-Hermanson Music Center.
Join the Taylor University Chorale for their Spring Concert to be performed at St. John’s Catholic Church, 209 South Spring Street, Hartford City, Sunday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. The 48-member Chorale, under the direction of Dr. JoAnn Rediger, traveled to Greece during Spring break, and will be sharing music and highlights of their tour during this concert.
Taylor University is pleased to welcome world-renowned voice teacher and baritone W. Stephen Smith for a lecture and master class on Saturday. He will conduct an 11:00 a.m. lecture and a 1:30 p.m. master class. Both are in the Butz Carruth Recital Hall in Taylor's Smith-Hermanson Music Center.
Dr. Christopher Ruggiero, Taylor University Department of Music staff accompanist and music theory instructor, will perform four works for piano in a recital on Friday, April 1, at 7:30 pm. Included on the program is Haydn Sonata in B Minor Hob. XVI:32, Chopin Scherzo No. 1, a set of Debussy preludes, and Carl Vine's Piano Sonata No. 1. Everyone is invited to this free recital in the Butz Carruth Recital Hall.

Taylor University music professors Dr. Chris Bade (clarinet) and Dr. Dana Collins (composer) will present CB DC on Thursday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m., in the Butz Carruth Recital Hall at the Smith-Hermanson Music Center. The program features four works for clarinet by living composers, including the premiere of Dana Collins’ piece, A Little Help from My Friends.
The Marion Philharmonic Orchestra will feature the Chamber Winds and guest artist Dr. Leon Harshenin in its fourth concert of the 2015-16 season, scheduled Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., in the Butz Carruth Recital Hall at Taylor University.
