Faculty Position in Computer Science
Taylor University is seeking applications and nominations of strong candidates for a faculty position in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering beginning in August 2013, teaching in the area of Computer Science. Initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of movement to tenure track. Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Computer Science or a related area is sought. Candidates must be strongly committed to the educational mission and evangelical Christian orientation of the University. Taylor University is a Christ-centered educational institution, and an evangelical, interdenominational covenant community committed to advancing life-long learning and ministering the redemptive love and truth of Jesus Christ to a world in need.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach courses in Computer Science and, possibly, Systems depending on background and fit with current faculty expertise. Computer Science courses might include any course beyond introductory Computer Science. The potential exists for involvement with the Center for Missions Computing, a Taylor University Center of Excellence.
Department
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers majors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science – New Media. The department also offers the Systems program which is an “add-on” available to most majors at Taylor and the recently created Systems Engineering major. The Computer Engineering major is ABET accredited. The Computer Science major includes concentrations in Business Information Systems, Graphics, Intelligent Systems, Scientific Computing, and Software Studio. The department has seven full-time faculty and two technical support staff. The Computer Science and Engineering Department is housed in the new 127,000 sq. ft. Euler Science Complex that opened in the summer of 2012.

Location
Taylor University, a four-year liberal arts college holding to a strong evangelical Christian position, is located in Upland, Indiana, sixty miles north of Indianapolis.
