Nelson has spent over 30 years developing and cultivating relationships with alumni and friends who have Taylor connections, and has worked in the Foundation for over 15 years. He travels extensively keeping Taylor's history alive and ensures a strong future for Taylor by working with people to help them establish and update their estate plans. He also coordinates activities for the 45th and 50th class reunions, held each year at Homecoming.

Nelson and his wife, Beth TUU x'73, live in Muncie and have two daughters, Erin TUU '99 and April TUU '01.
