Ben Sells, PhD, Vice President for University Advancement

Since 2006 Ben has been serving Taylor as the Vice President for University Advancement. In this role he provides leadership for the University’s efforts to engage alumni, parents, and friends with their time, talent, and treasure to further the mission of Taylor University. Ben and his wife, Lisa, are graduates of Southwest Baptist University, and Ben received his MA and PhD from the University of Missouri. Ben and Lisa have four children, Emily ’11, Patrick ’13, Abby ’15, and Tyler. The Sells live in Upland and are active members of the community.

Michael Falder, Associate Vice President for Major and Planned Gifts '94

As the Associate Vice President for Major and Planned Gifts Michael provides planned giving assistance and leads the team of Regional Directors for Advancement as they travel the country meeting with alumni and friends. Prior to returning to Taylor in 2007 Michael served for 10 years as Executive Director of Central Michigan Youth for Christ. Michael lives in Upland with his wife, Traci, and their children, Jonah (born in 2003) and Lydia (born in 2006). Michael is currently completing a Master’s degree in Philanthropic Studies at Indiana University.

Sherri Harter, Associate Vice President for Development

Sherri has served Taylor for 20-plus years in the areas of public relations, donor relations, and philanthropy.  As the Associate Vice President for Development she provides leadership to the many areas of Development, including Taylor Fund, Scholarships, Stewardship, and Development/Donor Services. Sherri and her husband, Ted, live in the Bluffton, Indiana, community.  The Harters have two sons – Thad, a Taylor senior majoring in elementary education, and Tory, a high school senior.

David Ritchie, Associate Vice President for Campaigns '96

David has been serving as a member of the Advancement staff since he joined the team in 2000 as the editor of Taylor magazine. He currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Campaigns. David and his family live in Upland.

Tom Green, Regional Director for Advancement-Indianapolis '81

Tom serves as one of Taylor’s Regional Directors for Advancement. Tom works with Taylor alumni, parents, and friends in Indiana, Southeastern U.S., and New York City Metro Area in order to advance the mission of Taylor University.

Tom is married to Laurie (Kesler) Green, also class of ’81. Their three children are married and have blessed them with three beautiful grandchildren. Tom came to join Taylor’s Advancement staff after working for 25 years in the investment industry. Tom is a fan of all sports – particularly the Colts and Cubs. He has enjoyed acting on stage and in some television commercials over the years.

Donald McLaughlin, Regional Director for Advancement - Michigan '75

Donald has been serving with Taylor since 2008 as a Regional Director for Advancement. Donald works with Taylor alumni, parents, and friends in Northern Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and several Northeastern states in order to advance the mission of Taylor University.

Donald came to Taylor with a lot of practical knowledge after twenty years of experience in the financial services industry and nine years in major gift fundraising. Donald is a former member of Taylor’s Alumni Council (1986-1990). Donald and his wife, Dr. Elizabeth McLaughlin, have two daughters. Kaitlin is a senior at Bethel College and Holly is a junior at Taylor.  Donald has lived in Granger, Indiana, for more than 30 years.

Nelson Rediger, Regional Director for Advancement '66

Nelson has been serving with Taylor since 1986 as a Regional Director for Advancement. Nelson works with Taylor alumni, parents and friends nationwide in order to advance the mission of Taylor University.  Nelson lives in Muncie, Indiana with his wife, Beth, also a Taylor alum. Their two daughters, Erin ’99 and April ’01, have blessed Nelson and Beth with five grandchildren.

Ken Wolgemuth, Regional Director for Advancement-Chicago '67

Ken Wolgemuth serves with Taylor University as a Regional Director for Advancement. Ken serves Taylor alumni, parents, and friends in Illinois and western states in order to advance the mission of Taylor University.

Ken met his wife, Sharon, while an English Literature and Art student at Taylor. After  graduation, he went first into campus youth ministry with Youth For Christ, which led him to a career in Christian publishing through the literature ministries of Campus Life Magazine, Zondervan, Word Publishing, and Urban Ministries – initially as a creative director, and later in marketing and sales. Ken and Shannon live in Wheaton, Illinois and have four daughters, two of whom are also Taylor alums, and five granddaughters. Ken feels he has reached the best years of his life’s work by representing the alma mater for which he has always been passionate.

Laura Key, Director of Advancement & Donor Services

Laura has been with Taylor since 1997. Her job as the Director of Advancement and Donor Services allows her to provide database support, write reports, and oversee the receipting of gifts to the university. Laura and her husband John live in Swayzee, Indiana, where John serves as the pastor of Maple Run Friends Church. They have two grown children, Samuel and Abby ’10.

Laura’s area is also served by the Assistant Director of Advancement and Donor Services, Christi Stargel, and the Assistant to Donor Services, Barbra Haley.

Tony Manganello, Director of the Taylor Fund '99

As the Director of the Taylor Fund Tony works within the Advancement Office to strategize, organize, and implement Taylor’s comprehensive annual giving program through direct mail, the student calling program, online giving, personal visits, and other areas. Tony grew up in Upland and graduated from Taylor University with a degree in Communication Studies. He served for eleven years as a special agent with the United States Secret Service stationed in Los Angeles, Indianapolis, and Washington D.C. prior to returning to Taylor and joining the Advancement team. Tony is married to Linda Manganello, also a Taylor graduate and faculty member, and they have two young daughters.

Taylor Ehrhard, Assistant Director of the Taylor Fund '10

As the Assistant Director of the Taylor Fund, Taylor directs the Phonathon and Student Ambassador programs as well as assists in other annual giving initiatives. Taylor received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Taylor in 2010, and her Master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Development, also at Taylor, in 2012. As part of her Master’s education, Taylor served as the Graduate Assistant for New Student Programs before joining the Advancement team.
