1. Find a mentor. You don't know everything and they can be really helpful in figuring out what you're good at and what you should do with your life.
2. Be prepared to have your integrity challenged. If you can keep your word when you sign the LTC, then you can be trusted with greater responsibilities.
3. Do as much as you can, but don't do everything. Get involved, but not over committed. Say 'Yes' for a great cause, and learn to say 'No' to some good ones. You can't choose both and do them both well.
4. Unless you have a conflict, never turn down a pick-a-date or a date. You can get to know some really interesting people and make good friends.
5. Work hard in school, but never let it come before people and relationships. Friends will matter when school is over, your GPA won't.
6. Don't start sleeping unless you have to! Enjoy your first two years as much as possible, and then start thinking about your future before you are a second semester senior.
7. Go abroad at some point in your college career; you might not get the chance to do so later in your life!
8. Live in the dorms all 4 years. You have the rest of your life to live in a house or apartment. Soak up the community while you can and be intentional about investing in underclassmen.
9. Don't play video games or watch television too much. You can still 'hang out' with people without wasting your time doing something that will become an addiction. It's kinda pricey to pay for college only to play video games or watch TV.
10. Get involved in something besides just school. Whether that is an outreach or a church, commit some time, be consistent, and you'll learn a lot about yourself and see the change you can have in the world.
