Celebrating Taylor University’s Mission with Alumni and Friends

Every spring, Taylor University hosts Heritage Weekend, a time to celebrate Taylor’s mission and to express appreciation to University donors and scholarship contacts. It is also a time to recognize student scholarship recipients and connect them with the individuals behind their scholarships.

This year’s Heritage Weekend will take place April 28-29, 2017

President’s Dinner (Invitation Only):

Hodson Dining Commons – 5:30 p.m. Saturday

Every spring, Taylor University hosts a President’s Dinner for both presidential partners and scholarship donors. The purpose of this event is to express appreciation for generous contributions to the University and her student’s Christ-centered education.

In addition to the President’s Dinner, other by invitation only events include:

Scholarship Reception

LaRita Boren Campus Center – 3:00 p.m. Saturday

Scholarship donors will meet, talk, and get to know their student recipient(s). Light refreshments will be served.

Bishop William Taylor Society and Council of 100 Reception

LaRita Boren Campus Center – Howell Galleria – 4:15 p.m. Saturday

President Lowell and Sherry Haines are hosting a special reception to honor and thank two faithful groups: member of the Bishop William Taylor Society, individuals who have included Taylor in their estate plans or have given through other planned gifts, and Council of 100 friends, whose cumulative lifetime giving has exceeded $100,000.

The Matchmaker Play

Rupp Communication Arts Center – Mitchell Theatre – 7:30 p.m. Saturday

Cunning, crafty, and thoroughly modern, Dolly Gallagher Levi knows a good catch when she sees one. So when the wealthy Horace Vandergelder hires her to find him a wife, Dolly doesn't need to look far to find his perfect mate. Thornton Wilder’s The Matchmaker is an uproarious play that reminds us to embrace the unexpected in our lives. Tickets are complimentary for President’s Dinner guests.

Musical Celebration

Rediger Chapel – 7:30 p.m. Saturday

The Taylor Chorale and Sounds are hosting a musical celebration. They’re welcoming Woodlan High School choir, two elementary school choirs from Hartford City, alumnus Celby Hadley ’08, and the Taylor Gospel Choir, for our alumni and friends. Tickets are complimentary for President’s Dinner guests.
